Take EVERYTHING about this board game (blue prints, designs, ideas, rules, etc) and package it so it can be mailed, take it to the post office, have it stamped and dated, and mail it to yourselfthen keep it, DON%26#039;T open it, and if someone comes up with something too similar, then sue, and use it as evidence
ALSO, make sure you don%26#039;t mail your only copies of things to yourself, make copies, and send the copies.
But remember, MAKE SURE THEY DATE THE ENVELOPE
and DON%26#039;T OPEN IT WHEN IT GETS TO YOU
and don%26#039;t lose it, duh
OR you could get it copyrighted officially, which is very pricey and unnecessary.
P.S. Also, i suggest keeping the copyrighted game that is stamped and dated in a safe deposit box 40% 2 Votes

you need to go to a legal firm that deals with copy right laws - Solicitors that deal with copyright laws and they will do a proper search that is part of the process and then to registered your brand is the second part of the progressed it can be world wide copy right or the term %26quot;all right reserved%26quot; checked it out for your self - maybe you find the information with the help of %26quot;Google%26quot;, it is a fast progressed or a slow one it depends upon your
cash flow as well, it is expensive too but once in place a %26quot;%26quot;Company%26quot; must do Tittle search similar to %26quot;Land searches%26quot; etc , and Mining searching as well , you do not want o %26quot; poach%26quot; any ones else claim as this is a lengthy process and will cost the earth to do- dealing with the law can be complex -get the %26quot;right wording is the best to with the demand you want with the game as well- is part of your game you want to be sold on line or held back for say a different period of time%26quot;,
are you wanting cash up front for instance you wanted to sale to Sony-they may need a different kind of contact- legal? or your want your own independence ? and sell only one fifth of line the decision is a Hugh one -you needed to word the contacted with in the copy right laws as a safe guard but not to stop you from allowing you to make money each country has different copyright laws and to need to take this into account - have fun with your research and do this with a professional help- as you do not want to be counter sued 20% 1 Vote -
FIrst of all mail a copy of the plans to yourself and make sure the Post office time stamps it. Then try to find out what is already listed in the patent office. The mail stamp will lock your design legally. You need get application for patient from the us patent office.

You can not copyright a game. You can trademark the name and file for a patent though. You can copyright your exact writing of the rules.
